When you go off the programed route, will it update null

Yes, it updates immediately. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I am not sure exactly what you mean, but, if you are driving and miss a turn, or make a wrong turn, it will re-route you back to your destination...no matter where you go. It will first try to get you back to the original route, then, after you deviate off course enough, it will generate a new route all together. It, like most gps's, has some degree of intelligence.
