• Hello Pete, The TomTom VIA 1515TM uses IQ routes technology that automatically calculates the fastest route using the worlds largest database of real travel times. On top of that, the device can reroute you around congestion if there is a quicker route. Thanks

• Yes, but some times it suggests the shorter time and then stick to the old route.
