In answer to your first question....contact TomTom and let them know how slow it works. The other question you'll have to ask Best Buy why they only carry the two models.

Have you been keeping the device up-to-date with software and maps? This is very important to keep it running smoothly. You can update your device in the MyDrive Connect software on your computer: www.tomtom.com/getstarted Once you have installed the latest updates, it may be necessary to carry out a Factory Reset.
