• yes. any 2.5 inch internal (laptop) sata drive will work for you. ssd or hdd.

• This is external, so you will have to utilize a USB port. It is easy to replace the hard drive that is in your laptop, just make sure you get the back up software off your partition or from Toshiba. Also, for a laptop, fork out the extra money for a Solid State Drive. The constant movement kills regular harddrives fast .
