• Yes, all internal hard drives will work, but it is not necessarily recommended. Toshiba hard drives are designed to work with chipsets for Toshiba laptops. Since you have a smart hard drive it is best to replace it with the recommended hard drives found in your maintenance and service guide on page 47. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02641795.pdf

• It's a standard size 2.6 inch laptop hard drive. I used it for more room in my PlayStation 4 which asks for a standard size laptop drive. I build computers all the time so I don’t see why it wouldn't work. You'd have to install Windows on it and it should be ok. Unless you wanted to use it as an external drive then you would need to buy an external hard drive case for it.
