A:Answer Good sounding and powerful boom boxes, especially ones with cd players, pretty much died when Sony stopped making their excellent BTG-900 series (and before that the Xplode series) unit. Before I bought this I had a NAXA box that replaced the Sony unit that finally failed. The NAXA box was a real P.O.S. that I was happy to throw away. This unit has much better sound and volume than I would have expected. I am very satisfied with this box, especially at this price point. Good luck finding something better. No, it doesn't have the sound that the old Sony units had, but no other box does either. Best Buy should have at least one of these on display for demo. I'll bet they would sell more.
