Regarding your question I'm glad to let you know that indeed previous model Toshiba remotes and other Universal Remotes that support Toshiba TVs can be used with this TV model. Functions supported depend on the other remote used, but generally will include Power, Volume and Input switching. Arely R. - Toshiba Support

• I don't have an old Toshiba remote to test with, but I doubt it will work. The remote seems to directly interface with the FireTV part and not the physical TV controls if that makes sense.
