I don't know about Dish remote but my TV set was programmed by the BestBuy Technician who delivered it and I didn't want to use the vice-activated remote (Alexa) so, he programmed it as follows: To turn on the set, I use the "old" (Toshiba TV) remote; on the new remote I click "home" and select "Cable"; I can then select the Channel I want to watch on the same "old" remote. To turn on sound, I click AUX and POWER on the "old" remote and adjust the volume using the VOL key on the "old" remote. I bought a 32 inch VIZIO sound bar and get great sound through that. My only problem is that the sound and the lips of the speakers on the screen are out of sync a bit and I don't know why that is but it is somewhat disconcerting. I don't know if this will anser your question.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it works with a Dish remote. I have the model 52.0 with the Hopper 3 receiver. I am using remote code 1524. I haven't tried any other codes. It will control volume, on/off and mute. You can also control the input using the Dish remote. You need to turn off the Limited Mode on the remote then you can use the Input button on the side to change to HDMI 1. This will allow you to use only the Dish remote to turn on the TV and set the input and get past the annoyance of using two remotes to access Dish when you first turn on the TV.
