“the reviews talk about using Alexa. I do not have an Alexa and do not plan to buy one. Do I need one to operate this TV? Also my primary interst is in getting a TV that I can bring up wireless internet with it's search engines. Is this the TV for me?”

You don't need to have/buy an Alexa device, the included remote has Alexa already built-in. You need the included remote to operate this TV. This TV can connect to the wireless internet and it has a browser app called "internet" to surf the web.

No you don’t have to have an Alexa and I’ll u have to do is input your WiFi information in the network settings of your tv and you will be able to access Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc...
