I have a Roku 4 plugged into mine, and it works perfectly. I was able to stream Amazon Prime Video (you can't do that on Chromecast) at 4k resolution. So, to answer your question: No, Chromecast will not block a Roku box, nor will interfere with any of Google's streaming competition like Amazon and Sling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any device that has an HDMI output will work. There are three HDMI inputs to use. As for the previous answer that said chomecast is a screen mirroring, is a inaccurate statement. When you use a tablet or phone app such as Netflix there is a cast button that you hit and gives you all the places you can send the cast request to. In this case if you select your TV, then a command is sent to the TV and then the TV plays that video or movie directly from the internet. People are incorrect when they believe that the device such as the phone is playing the video and mirroring it on the TV. The device such as the phone is just used as a remote as such that you use to pick what you want to watch and then also to play, pause., Rewind the video (or music, or photos). But to directly answer, no the TV doesn't block you from using whatever smart device that you would like to use. A Roku will work fine, I use an Amazon Fire TV box myself.
