I had a similar problem. My first one was turning on by itself in the middle of the night, audio only no picture. It scared the sh... out of me a couple times while sleeping. I retuned that one thinking I was defective and got another one. The second tv did the same thing the second night, so I decided to look around for another problem but not with the tv. I noticed the cable box/digital adapter in that room provided by bright house now spectrum is usually on because when I'm done watching tv i just turn the tv off not the cable box. I tried turning that off as well and the tv has not turn on again by itself. My conclusion was that there's something with the cable device, while powered on. At least in my case end up working just turning that off. If you have that or something similar conected to it, I would suggest trying to turning off the device. Hope that helps

I ended up spending $200 more on a Hisense H8 series TV which has been nothing but awesome for us. 4k HDR 4 HDMI inputs. So there are plenty for all the gaming consoles and one more for a Blueray player 3 USB inputs Component and composite inputs for your old fashioned RCA connections Optical audio output as well as an 3.5mm audio output. It doesn't have Chromecast built in but it's a smart tv which has a lot to offer for apps. I'm able to cast youtube to it without any problem from the laptop and smart phone. 4k content LOOKS AWESOME and the sound is FAR BETTER than that Toshiba! If you're using an external source into the television, you need to use HDMI 3 or 4 for 4K content.

I have had this problem and a few other quirks.My computer recognized the TV as an LG.Same motherboards it seems. Direct TV is my cable provider and Cox for internet.The TV will turn on, it will drop direct TV connection, It will halt Netflix all without my asking it. I decided it was possessed.

And after I turn it on it ask me to Set me up the chrome-cast again. Did you got some resolution yet or you have to return the TV? - Andy
