“Can anyone recommend a good universal/Toshiba remote for this TV since the included remote doesn't have numbered channel buttons, only the scrolling channel buttons? Please do not suggest Harmony because I don't want to pay those prices for a remote.”

A universal remote purchased at Best Buy or Walmart, should work. It should have codes for all the brands included.
