You will need a smartphone or tablet (or laptop with chrome installed) to "launch" anything (you're actually "casting" it from the device to the TV); the apps are not preinstalled on the TV (anyone saying this is a smart TV is incorrect). If you have a good phone, you'll probably like this better than a smart TV, because your phone will give you more options and switch menus much quicker (imagine how quickly you can switch from watching a movie on Netflix to a show on Hulu on your phone, and compare that to how long it would take switching menus and typing everything in on your TV).
