The same thing happened to me after for just a year, if I unplugged it and then plugged it back up, the Toshiba splash screen would appear, the standby red light would flash and then it would power off. There's very little info online about this particular brand. After 9 months of it taking up precious space, I decided to figure out what was wrong with it or take it to the dump. I checked the fuse in it (it has a white ceramic fuse, so you can't just look at it to tell if it's blown) and it was ok.I unplugged all the little electrical components and sprayed Electronic Cleaner on them and all over the main board and power supply board. Finally I went to the Toshibia website. I couldn't get the model nor serial numbers to pull up, because apparently this tv is discontinued. So finally after much searching I found this http://tvna.compal-toshiba.com/us/en/. Go to the bottom of the screen and click on Discontinued Models. From there look for your model number (if your model # is 55L62U then 55 won't be on the there, just L621U). Click Support, under Manual/Firmware Download click Download Page, then enter your model # (including the 55) then hit search. Scroll down until you find Download Procedure and Firmware. The first one is instructions on how to install the firmware correctly, so make certain to download it also. You will have to do this from a pc, because you will have to unzip the file and move it over to thumb drive. My tv said the download failed, but for some crazy reason it is working perfectly. I guess the firmware forced a reboot on my tv (?). I hope this helps you and anyone else that has had this problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
