I used with my Samsung Galaxy S tablet and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge without any issues. Your phone should work.

The product description states the following: "Chromecast works with a compatible iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, MacBook or Windows laptop, or Chromebook." Both Chromecast and Android (the system Samsung phones run on) is made by Google. It would make no sense for them to make Chromecast work for iPhones (their competition) and not their own phone system. Worth noting, is that it also works with laptop computers. I set my TV and can Chromecast using a Windows 7 laptop.
