Can I download new apps like yupptv etc ... null

No unfortunately but you can stream from phone to tv and still use phone while streaming to tv and it does not eat up my battery either

Apps are downloaded to your phone or tablet and then streamed (they use the word 'Cast") to the tv. Youtube app casts. Others you already have might. It's explained in the manual.
