One time setup. I did mine with a hotspot just to get it done. It's not on wifi now and it doesn't do all that auto stuff like in the beginning.

If you plan on just setting it up with your cable or regular local stations It should be fine. I hooked it up with a new DVD player in order have the apps. I would get with a regular "Smart T.V."
