• No. But the remote has no buttons. You'll see, you get used to it quickly. My wife loves the remote.

• No phone needed. I've had this tv going on a month and it comes with an Alexa/fire tv remote which works fine. I personally use a fire stick that already had everything I use that I transferred from the old tv. No problems.
