Q: QuestionThe 4TB HDD: Retail package says it is compatible with Window 10 and 8.1, but no mention of Windows 7. Can it be used with Win7 PCs?
Asked by WindowsCompatibility.
- A:Answer ANY USB hard drive is compatible with ANY Operating system. Short answer, yes. (Just plug it in and use it) Long answer, don't fall for a manufacturer marketing a hard drive compatibility to a specific OS Windows for the past 20+ years = NTFS or FAT (both work) I prefer and recommend NTFS, although FAT is universally acceptable between major OS's. Just search "how to format hard drive in windows 7" ...or whatever if you're ever curious .. just swap out operating system and version and you'll be unstoppable against the hard drive manufacturers. Takes a couple minutes generally.
