I strongly recommend you take the time to put it in the console though. It is a much safer and reliable way of playing your games. Plus with only two usb ports you really want to keep those clear for more important stuff like headsets and charging your controller. But if you do put a drive inside the ps4 go with a 2TB one as it will guarantee you won't need to upgrade again. You'll find one for close to the same price you'd pay for this external hard drive. The only difference is you'll have to get a caddy for it so that you may plug it in if you choose to do it that way.
