• Thanks for your question. This laptop comes with 4GB DDR3L RAM and it is not user upgradeable.

• Most computers will take up to 16 Gig. There are factors that can determine how much your computer would use. Unless you are heavy into gaming or writing programs, you don't need more than 8 Gig. If you are into either of those, you don't want this computer anyway!
