Totally depends on what you are going to use it for in determining if this is a computer for you or not. For the price, it's pretty decent. It's not screaming fast or fast. It will get you on the internet and work with your files but if you are going to edit pictures or video, get something with a faster processor. It came with Windows 8 but on first boot up, it asked if I wanted to upgrade to Windows 10. I just did it and had no issues at first. The mouse pad quit responding so I had to tell the computer to roll back the driver which it did and all was well. Fortunately it has a touch screen so I was able to do that without attaching an external mouse. Nice computer for school student unless you are going to be doing programming or art.

Best buy has a good price on this to begin with, but even better if you catch it on sale. Firstly, there is no reason to avoid this based on the AMD cpu, as it runs just as well as the Intels at almost everything. That said, if you want to tinker with O/Cing this, the Intel is much easier to work with...especially if you consider that Toshiba has made this the idiot model with almost no BIOS customization. Also, being the idiot model, the HDD and RAM are not easily accessible. To alter these, you must take apart the entire laptop and void your warranty. That said, after you open this up, it is just as customizable as the machines that are at the ridiculous prices. The GPU is okay. The RAM as shipped is okay, but will get a little slow if you are running high-security anti-virus with several apps. The screen resolution is good, but could be better. The touchscreen functionality is brilliantly handy and works very well. It also seamlessly transitions between the two. The battery also can't be removed without dismantling (warranty void), so bear that in mind. They tell you it will survive thousands and thousands of recharges, but then they claim it runs almost 6 hours on the battery alone also and that is BS. It runs 2 to 3 max. In summation, this is a real little value bundle at under $300. With a little bit of work it easily surpasses many other pricier alternatives. For those wanting a portable email/internet/entertainment (besides heavy gaming) tool, this is more than capable enough right out of the box.

Excellant Laptop for Home Use and Students

Laptop with touch screen is an upgrade over my 3 year old laptop that has Vista. I quickly upgraded to Windows 10 and it runs circles around my old one both in speed and processing capability. It is quick and responsive, the touch screen is an added plus at this price point. I have installed all my programs and they function well under Windows 10 operating system without any hiccups.. The laptop has all the ports that I needed and the DVD writer operates well for movies and burning DVD/CDs. In conclusion, an all around good general purpose laptop that should meet the majority of requirements for both home use and students. For the sale price of $249 and its intended use for my needs I rate it 5 stars for its capabilities, the A8 processor and touch screen. If it goes on sale again and your shopping for a general purpose laptop grab this one.

This computer is just what we needed. We needed an inexpensive supped up tablet and this fits the bill. Free Windows 10 upgrade is nice but not why I would buy this one. I got it during a 4 hour flash sale and even adding 2 yr geek squad protection I was still right at $400 out the door. It isn't the fastest or the biggest But for the money I got what I was expecting and that seems to be better than the norm anymore.

This is a great laptop for a great price. I purchased it for school and basic internet browsing. It is pretty basic, but does exactly what I need it to. The mouse pad lags a lot. If I try to move the mouse, it will disappear from my screen or won't move at all. That is the biggest pain to me. The touch screen is really great and works wonderfully. If my mouse pad isn't working, I can reach and touch the screen instead.

I brought this laptop strictly due to need after my desktop computer went down and it was determined that it would take some time before I would get it back. This laptop has a lot of good features for it's price range. The only real knock on it for me is due to the limited RAM the performance can be inconsistently sluggish at times.

It's a good laptop but setting up is time consuming. Also, some problems with speed especially if you use the touch screen. Considering the low price, it's still a good deal..

I wanted a laptop with great features at a lowest price and I found it. This one costed me $300+ and works as smooth as the same brand that costed me $1200+. The motherboard speed for the type of office work I do is great.

I was looking for a laptop for my daughter's 12th birthday. She wanted something that she could play some basic games on, and I wanted something that wouldn't break the bank! I looked around a little bit, but most everything that suited me was too expensive. This laptop has a decent processor along with reasonable amounts of RAM and hard drive for basic gaming purposes as well as school work requirements. Add to that the touch screen and you really get a lot of Bang for the Buck! I haven't used it much yet, but I am sure it will be more than enough to do what she wants it for.

Computer relation to the price ($ 279) ($ 249 in advertising was but for some reason I did not get this price) gives a pretty good value, touchscreen and bad data. Upon receipt of your computer installed Windows 10 after installation I have a problem with the touchpad after searches I returned Driver. In addition, WIFI reception is weak, and relatively slow reaction to the new computer. I expected more, but probably at a lower price is what you get.

Very average laptop in most measures. I find that it is pretty slow as far as reaction to scrolling, closing tabs, etc. Came with Windows 8.1 which is terrible so I did the upgrade to Windows 10 as soon as I booted up the computer. Upgrade took several hours and required several reboots. Not much better than Windows 8.1 in my opinion. Not a fan of the touchscreen so I switched it to regular laptop setting but took forever to get touchpad to work as a regular mouse. Got it for $279 + tax so I wasn't really expecting much from it.

OK, I'm spoiled by high performance machines, but I wanted an inexpensive unit that I could leave running Windows. The combination of the touch screen and Windows 10 makes a surprisingly efficient and pleasant platform. It easily runs the tasks I need to run under Windows. I have also tested it with typical jobs like running Open Office, browsing the Internet with Edge, Chrome and Firefox, editing photos with The Gimp and it runs all of these tasks with ease and quite quickly. If I was using this for my main machine, I would prefer a larger disk drive, but that may just indicate that I am falling behind the times as cloud storage is becoming so cheap that it is an alternative to a large native drive. The touch screen is very nice. The registration (how well touch lines up with what is displayed) is excellent. Sensitivity is just right as well.

It may not be a beast in terms of processing power, but this laptop is a great general use laptop for someone on a budget. Touchscreen is a great addition. I updated to Windows 10 shortly after the laptop arrived and it has handled the new OS well.
