• Check with each one's specific listing - EVEN IF it is the same laptop - because retailers add or remove features to meet certain price points. Sometimes for promotional prices - like during holiday door busters etc - they omit add on features like optical drives

• No it does not. You would need to buy an external CD. Most ultra-portable laptops no longer have CDs as content is usually downloadable. You could purchase a USB CD drive if you absolutely need it. I haven't had one on my laptops for about 3 years and not missed it.
