Great Buy for an Entry Level Laptop

If you are looking for a good entry level laptop for basic computing tasks the Toshiba Satellite will fill the bill. Not intended for high end use with graphic intense demands. Good speed for everyday computer tasks. Large capacity HD. Decent build quality for a unit under $400.00. This is not a $1500.00 machine, so don't compare it to one. It has a Super Multi DVD burner, for those looking to play or burn CD or DVD media, that is not found on most laptops these days. If your budget is small and you need a basic laptop the C55t-C5300 will meet your needs.

I tried to purchace a laptop online and thank god my credit card would not go threw so I decided to go into the store and was greeted by a gentleman who was extremely helpful and a sweetheart I explained I need a good computer for school. I showed him the one l wanted to purchase and he told me if im trying to attend school thats not the correct laptop for me. He then showed me some laptop that would be better for me although it was more money It was definitely well worth the money the only problem I am having is that its a pretty slow but that could be because of my internet so therefore I will not point fingers untill I visit best buy and see whats going on with my laptop.Overall great experience! Was very satisfied!! And really appreciated the honesty and the help I received I will defentley he back to purchase more items I need!

I bought this laptop because I had problems with my old one after upgrading to windows 10, and I must say I've been pleasantly surprised. The battery life is great, the processor is plenty fast, and the price was very affordable. You can buy faster machines but why pay the extra?

I wanted a touchscreen computer with good speed and ample memory at an affordable price, and I found it! I don't like the sharp edge of the front of the computer since after typing awhile the edge hurts my wrists, but that would be my only complaint. Good buy!!

I bought this laptop on sale. For around $400 (tax included and a $5 donation to ST. Jude). I am very pleased with what I got. Screen is very nice, love the feel of the keyboard. Has plenty of storage. Perhaps my only complaint is that there is no backlit keyboard. But that isn't really a complaint... It's a $400 laptop! I would recommend it. You won't get much better for the price.

I bought this laptop to become my work/school computer. My old cpu became the kids computer for schoolwork and for play. This laptop is amazing. Love the fact that it is touchscreen. It is fast, lightweight, and easy to use. My wife has a HP laptop that was sooooo slow out of the box. This Toshiba is lightning fast. It's taking some time to get used to Windows 10, but it seems very intuitive.

Laptop has plenty of space, operates at a decent speed and connect to your internet and holds the connection. Windows 10 with the touch screen is an added advantage. The laptop works equally well as a touch screen with the mouse and with the touch pad. I would recommend this to anyone needing the computer.

Probably the best laptop for the money and the touch screen can be switched to Tablet mode making it function in the same manner as your smart phone. The HD is large enough for just about anything you want to store and it connects to your phone, or other peripherals, via Bluetooth making transfer of files, photos and such a snap. The only thing I can think of that would enhance the user experience would be a lighted keyboard.

Pros: As a professional student who's in class for 7+ hours a day, the 8-9 hour battery life is amazing! I run multiple programs simultaneously (Acrobat DC, Word, and plenty of Internet tabs) with no problem, and never have to lug around the charger. I also never expected to use the touch screen, but I actually love it. It's very accurate and it helps to avoid loud mouse sounds (see below), while also giving it the feel of a much nicer computer. The 1TB storage is great and far exceeds my needs. Cons: It's a little slow for its processing specs but not so much that it's really noticeable unless you're head-to-head downloading with someone else. The two main problems I experience are that the mouse is very loud when clicked and the Internet drops a lot more frequently than with my old hp. It reconnects in a minute or so, it's just an inconvenience. Overall, for the price, you really get your money's worth and then some. My hp crapped out mid-semester and this Toshiba has been a wonderful replacement that's held its own despite being 1/4th the price. I would definitely recommend this computer for students or anyone looking for a basic needs office computer.

I'm not very informed when it comes to technology so I read all the reviews before purchasing this laptop. The reviews were good and the price was excellent so I ordered it. I love it! The touch screen is a great feature, it moves quickly and I have the option to direct connect to my router if need be. I would recommend this laptop to anyone in college or for basic use.

This laptop is everything I was looking for at a great price - 1 TB of storage and it is able to perform all of my everyday tasks. The touchscreen is a nice added bonus. I have not run into any problems thus far and would recommend this laptop for anyone looking to not spend too much without sacrificing on options.

This "Available at Best Buy Only" Toshiba model, had it been customized to these specs, would have cost 2.5 times the price. 6 GB ram - It streams video easily and well; a terabit of storage I don't know that I will ever use even half of it. The touchscreen is a nice bonus. Nice and light.

    Toshiba laptop i3 processor

The laptop is as expected, more modern than the Sony/centrino I had for several years. Could not find a better deal than Best Buy. The i3 is not quick, but had a 1 TB hard drive & 6Gb of RAM. I wanted an i5 processor to be a little faster, but saved $150 going with the i3. Everything works & easy set up. Win 10 is okay. Having some difficulty with bluetooth, but that could be me. Okay for surfing/email, not gaming.

I'm mostly happy with my new Toshiba laptop after I figured out how to disable some of the Windows 10 features that were giving me problems. I would have been happier with Windows 7.1. I was having problems with the display suddenly getting bigger or smaller. The Geek representative told me that the display was resizing because two fingers were touching the mousepad, but he could not tell me how to disable this feature. I finally figured it out myself. I have a hotspot, and Windows 10 tends to use up a lot of data so beware. I love the touch screen and the speed

    Disappointing

I have always owned Toshiba and love their products until this one...I bought this as an average upgrade to the Toshiba lap top I had with the i3 processor and my old one is faster on and off line. This one the edges are very sharp on the front and sides and very uncomfortable on your palms while using it in your lap and if you slide your hand across the edges it leaves marks in your skin. The touch pad is jumpy even after trying to adjust the sensitivity and it sometimes does not fully load webpages fully until three or four tries at reloading the page yet I can go to the same page with my old Toshiba with zero issues. The mouse buttons are far from enjoyable between the fact they are the same level as the rest of the laptop deck which makes it very hard to get a feel for them without having to look at Last them when needed which sucks when the lights are out working late not wanting to bother anyone else in the room. Also the spring pressure on the mouse buttons is ridiculous and wears my thumb out very quickly especially when editing pictures. Last the grained finish *looks* nice and it good for grip but the main deck and the mouse pad instantly absorbs normal oil from your skin and looks horrible even after very first use. As of the moment I am considering returning it to Best Buy and looking for something different...again I normally love Toshiba products but this one is a great disappointment at best. One picture shows how the main deck looks from normal touch, the top looks the same everywhere I have touched it to open/close it ect. and I don't even have oily skin. The other picture is when the palm of my left hand looks like from the sharp edges just in the time it took to write this review.

This is my third Toshiba laptop and I always buy the cheapest ones I can find. The processor in this one, a Pentium i3, is very powerful. Runs Windows 10 very well. Much better than the Celeron in my slightly older Toshiba. My first Toshiba laptop lasted six years! The touchscreen is fun to play games with, but not much else. I got this one for my wife and she downloaded all of her photos on the 1T of memory. It syncs well with Google drive and Microsoft cloud. The display is clear and beautiful, so long as you don't smudge it up with your fingerprints using the touch screen. Buy a stylus.
