As stated by Toshiba, there is no difference between the 2 except for the version of Windows installed. For me, it was worth the extra $10 (when I bought it) to have Windows 10 already installed on the X model. I've updated 2 other computers to Windows 10 without any problem, but 1 other computer for some reason would always fail the update. There is no logical reason for the reviews to be different between the two. Mine seems to behaving fine and I see no difference between the keyboard or trackpad of mine and that of the Windows 8.1 model on display at my local BB. It seems like some reviewers of the X model are expecting i5 performance in a Pentium computer.
