Seems to still be the same soft (kind of flimsy) full button touch pad. It nice at first, but does loosen up quickly after little use and can become frustrating - so I can completely understand the questioning of this.

The touchpad on this model seems a few notches above the C series models unlike the Toshiba representative mentions. This one is stiff and there are no situations where the mouse jumps around like the C series because of the welcomed stiffness. There is a chance that the touchpad is the same and Toshiba just has bad quality controls, but every C series I've used in a store has had a less than stellar touchpad.
