It is home. I have pro installed on my desktop and there is not much difference honestly. However there are obviously more features with pro security and encryption and if you need them specifically then you will either need to upgrade or get another laptop. I only answer this way because i know in past Windows versions such as Win7 more mainstream features were left out of the lower versions but with Win 10 it is mainly just drive encryption and some other 'pro' features missing.
