A:Answer I am a senior computer engineer, and I own this laptop. Yes, the RAM can be upgraded (contrary to what Toshiba claims) however know that by opening most laptops you void the manufacturer's warranty. That said, it is very easy and requires no special tools. Just remove the 10-12 screws on the back of the machine, pop off the back cover, and you will see the RAM modules located along the side. Squeeze the clips and the modules will pop up, then just remove and replace. Just make sure you get the right type of RAM (DDR3L... the "L" is critical). The chipset will allow up to 16GB (2 x 8GB) to be installed. Good Luck!
