Q: QuestionDoes this phone support voice-over-data, or whatever the capability it is that is needed in order for a person to use their data (surf the web), WHILE simultaneously talking on the actual phone? Not sure if that's VolTE or not, thanks!
Asked by ChaiChaiChaiChai.
- A:Answer VoLTE (Voice over Long-Term Evolution) is a standard high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones and data terminals, including Internet of things (IoT) devices and wearables. VoLTE calls are usually charged at the same rate as other calls. All of the major US carriers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon support VoLTE. Most carriers refer to VoLTE as HD Voice for marketing reasons, as it points to its increased fidelity compared to a traditional cell call. At this point, most people making a call on a modern smartphone will be using HD Voice whether they know it or not. Most MVNOs and Prepaid carriers are also using HD Voice. Wi-Fi calling tech is nearly identical to HD Voice from the user's perspective in that it uses a Wi-Fi data connection to complete the call instead of LTE data. Every major carrier supports VoLTE on some of its phones. Pretty much every new phone will support VoLTE, but not every phone will let you turn it on or off. Not all wireless providers let you talk on the phone and use data at the same time. Total Wireless is a low-cost mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) cell phone service owned by Tracfone that relies on Verizon's towers to provide customers with the same great coverage at a fraction of the price. If Total Wireless supports VoLTE on this phone, you can tap Network > Advanced Calling on the settings screen on the phone...^IFV
