Hi Smud, The TP-Link TL-SG605P utilizes IEEE 802.3af/at to automatically detect and supply power to compliant PDs (Powered Devices) that also support 802.3af/at. Devices that do not support 802.3af/at technology will be detected as non-compliant, and the switch will not supply power to them.
