It should extend and but you may have to experiment for the best location. My setup is a router in my main floor den, with the extender in my lower level, 80 feet away, down the 2-way staircase and around a corner. In fact, when on our main level, our Dish Hopper picks up a stronger signal from the WiFI Extender rather than the router on the same floor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had a dead zone in the addition to the house I’m living in. I purchased the extender to eliminate that problem and it solved the issue. The extender is 25-30 feet away from the router, and that’s the same location I setup the extender at. Now this is all happening on the same floor, but several walls in between. I’d like to think if you setup the extender on the second floor in relatively similar location as the router on the third floor you should have no issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It needs to be very close to the router during the setup process and can be placed approximately halfway between the router and the zknw where you need wifi. It's not super efficient in terms of signal strength, just to let you know.
