If you mean telephone wire from the wall outlet to your modem then you need a DSL modem and possibly one supplied by your provider. If you mean a telephone wire that runs from your equipment to your phone for VOIP then you need a modem with a VOIP port. Your provider can possibly assist in giving options that work with their service or provide you with a rental. Either way a modem is likely the hardware you need and a router is not the equipment you should be seeking for this purpose.
