Hi! 1) Yes. 2) No; however you can conveniently apply firmware updates via the web GUI or the Tether app. 3) This will vary depending on whether or not an update is warranted (e.g. to address performance, bugs, or security as the need arises). 4) WPA3 Personal is the recommended encryption type for home networks.
