Technically yes; however, WiFi 6 is backwards compatible with previous WiFi protocols so you should not encounter any difficulty if the router utilizes this feature. In some rare cases - e.g. some laptops that utilize specific Intel WiFi chipsets having difficulty connecting to WiFi 6 networks - a simple driver update on the wireless device (e.g. laptop) should address the concern.
