Theoretically it could, depending on where the router is installed within your home, and how far that location is from your patio, as well as how many obstructions there are between the two locations. Wi-Fi coverage will vary depending on your environment.

The nice thing about it is once setup you can move it around by just unplug it and move it to a new location. The app will test the network for you to make sure they are not too far apart.
