Hi, what you are describing is known as "Wi-Fi roaming" between networks. This is primarily handled by the connected device, or "client" device (your phone in this case). Depending on the Wi-Fi capabilities of your phone, you may be able to adjust its Wi-Fi roaming behavior. Other things you can do to help with roaming may include assigning the same SSID (Wi-Fi name) as your router to the extender, or using EasyMesh (if supported by your router). Hi, Thank you for your review. Universal Wi-Fi Range Extenders require some setup steps; however, TP-Link Wi-Fi Extenders are designed for quick, intuitive installation using convenient setup methods, such as WPS button setup, web setup, and Tether app setup. Our TP-Link support team is always available and happy to assist with any questions you may have about our products. Feel free to contact us through any of the resources provided with the product or on our official website, and a Support Agent will follow up with you directly.
