Yes. You need to connect the first one to your modem. After that, the satellites are connect wirelessly. I have them in a 1900 square foot home and I no longer have dead spots.

They do require power to operate, thus a cord for AC power is needed. An Ethernet jack is provided for a wired connection to some devices. I hope this helps. It works great in my house, and into the garage for updates for the car. TP Link KASA devices all work well together.
