Excellent choice for 5k sq ft house
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. These are rated at 5500 sq ft coverage. My home is a 4900 sq ft+ rambler and we are getting full coverage in every room and corner of the house. Using Xfinity 75MBPS and we don't have any gamers in the house but we do have a lot of devices and kids are always doing homework or streaming something and we have zero waiting, zero lag. Very happy with the TP LInk Deco mesh wifi. Set up took 2 tries for some reason and I had to reset each device before it would let me run the set up again but the second time everything went flawlessly so I didn't take any points away for that...technology isn't perfect and I might have made a mistake the first time. Eventually if they offer fiber where we live then I may need something with higher speeds, maybe? but this is very much up to the task for our situation right now. Would recommend to anyone who wants fast, reliable wifi.

Game changer
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. The wireless router provided by my internet provider sucked so bad that it was causing interference with other things in my home. Since installing this mesh router system night and day difference, I'm pulling 384 megabits per second on average and I have up to 40 some odd items attached to my internet at any given time. If you're looking for a solution, this is definitely the game changer for you

Switch to a Mesh Network it’s Life Changing
||Posted .My apartment is longer than what a traditional router can support and when I had switched cable companies the installer mentioned mesh systems being better than buying just an extender. He was absolutely right, this mesh network is incredible, there are no dead zones in my apartment at all, I can see every device that is using WiFi on my network, and it was easy to install for an insanely low price compared to many of the other mesh networks out there.

Good system, but Zoom...
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is my second pack of 3. The first 3 did not quite reach all of the areas in my home that I needed wi-fi, so I bought a second pack. They integrated perfectly with the first set of three. The only drawback that I have with these is that they struggle with Zoom sometimes, giving me an unstable connection. I usually switch back to my AT&T router when I know I will be using Zoom, but that wi-fi doesn't have nearly the range of this mesh system. Overall, I am very satisfied.

TP-Link Deco M4 (3-Pack) ReviewDesigned for homes of up to 5,500 square feet, the TP-Link Deco M4 ($179.99) is a reasonably priced three-node whole-home Wi-Fi system that is simple to install and even easier to manage thanks to a user-friendly mobile app. It also offers fast

TP-Link Deco M4 review: Expansion packThe TP-Link Deco M4 is rarely good enough to justify itself as a replacement for the M5, and it makes one-too-many software compromises for it to hold up as the budget-friendly alternative either.

Q: QuestionYou used to have a Deco model that said it was meant for "thick walls."I have a 100 year old home&will be connecting one of the towers to my verizon fios router- will this product be the best one for my thick walls or is there another line that is best?
Asked by lowtech.
- A:Answer Hello. I live in a 70+ year old home with the same issues... 2X6 framing, drywall covered by plaster. It is a ranch home which is very spread out. After quite a lot of research and discussions with an I.T. friend decided on the Deco unit. It works great. We have the three stations. One at each end room upstairs and one in the basement fitness room. Miles better than the older antenna router with extenders. FYI, we have Spectrum business class for our service.

Q: QuestionDoes it have a Ethernet port
Asked by Dev.
- A:Answer Yes, there are 2 ethernet ports on each device. The main will be connected to your internet gateway box and the other can be used for other devices. On the 2 other devices both ethernet ports can be used.

Asked by Allen.
- A:Answer The Deco M4 3-Pack is designed to provide WiFi coverage for up to 5,500 sq ft. If you home is 7000 sq ft, you will need additional Deco units; preferably 2 or 3 more, depending on your home's layout. Regards, TP-Link Support

Q: QuestionCan one of the units be placed in a detached garage 100 ft away from modem
Asked by Torch.
- A:Answer You can try, but don’t think you will get a good connection if any at all. Best case would be the lower bandwidth 2.4 GHz band. All said, you should install a hard wire CAT6 cable between the garage and the network router/switch to get decent bandwidth. If hard wiring is not an option, there are point-to-point wireless bridge links that are available on the market, but line-of-sight is required for that link. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionI feel stupid asking this, but do I also need a modem for these to work? Or do they act as modem and router? I currently have the rental modem with Xfinity and want to upgrade.
Asked by olivegracie.
- A:Answer Yes you still need a modem for the main internet connection. Then one of these gets hardwired to that modem.

Q: QuestionSet up deco today and when I select in my wifi settings it says “weak security” how to fix?
Asked by Jen.
- A:Answer In your case, please ensure your Deco app and firmware are fully up to date, which should address the message you are receiving.

Q: QuestionWill I have to select a new WiFi passcode?
Asked by Dee.
- A:Answer It doesn’t have to be different. But it will not know your old passcode. Even if you name your WiFi the same name and passcode as before, your devices will have to be connected manually, because it is a different. SSID.
