• I added these in Access Point mode with a Google fiber router (since I have Google phone and have to keep the router for that) and am very happy with the result. The backhaul is over Ethernet, so it is very fast. 400mbps. During setup use Access Point mode, disable wifi on your current router. Enable Fast Roaming and Beamforming

• You can configure them as access points only. I did that and left my router in place. I disabled the Wi-Fi on my router and use tp link for all the wireless connections and my router is still the dhcp server for everything.
