I would first ask if he's connecting his ethernet cable to the 2.5G spot on the unit, and then I would ask if the unit itself is actually getting a good enough connection from the main Deco (I'm assuming it's not the main one). Please also ensure that the cable is a proper CAT-6 or CAT-7 cable and not something older or rated for less speed. Also, it might seem like a no-brainer, but make sure the PC is trying to connect using Ethernet, because sometimes it doesn't automatically do it and will continue to try connecting through Wi-Fi.
