- Answer All depends on placement of one of the mesh devices. To get a possible good signal to you garage, place the mesh device along the wall closest to the garage (inside of course). You can also add another mesh device in your garage to boost the signal from the connection to the one inside.

QuestionMy provider is Fidium Fiber by Consolidated Communications. Is this compatible ? as I would like to extend my wi fi range inside my home as well as the outside patio. Do I have to connect it through the existing Adorn model 854-v6Wi Fi router .

- Answer Hi KICK, Yes, as long as the main Deco is connected to your existing Internet source (e.g., modem, ONT, gateway) via Ethernet cable.

- Answer You will need a compatible modem or ONT with Xfinity's service but if you have that then the Deco or any router will work.

- Answer There should be no reason why it would not. You will need to connect your ISP's modem to the main node via ethernet and you may need to configure the WAN based on your ISPs requirements but it should work.

- Answer if by non-docsis router you mean not cable based, yes. Mine connected to an AT&T gigabit BGW210 modem without any issues. Their documentation mentions no limitation concerning the inbound protocols.

- Answer It will be faster to connect to the modem instead of slaving it to the router you have now. Especially if you plan on using a mesh system. Total performance will most likely be limited by your spectrum modem.

- Answer Yes they can be used as range extenders. I initially used them as such, but once I set them up as intended, I never went back to using extenders. Using them as a mesh network allows seamless movement of your devices no matter where you are in your environment.

QuestionI am making an office space for people to work while their kids are at daycare. Could this handle 10 to 15 people using WiFi to do wfh things and have range to cover a large horse barn?

- Answer If you have more than 1 tower, then yes. The problem you're going to have, however, is if the kiddos are moving from one area to the other, they are going to be falling out of the range of one tower, and randomly connecting to another tower in another area. This might be problematic with children randomly losing WiFi signal and losing their minds, lol. You might think that 1 tower will be more suitable, but one tower won't give you that much range. I will suggest that one tower in a designated area will support about 12-15 devices at once. I can say that because I have a similar setup myself.

QuestionIf I want to purchase another satellite at a later date, will I need to just plug it into an electric outlet to sync with the main router, or is there a complicated setup? if yes, should I buy a multi pack together?

- Answer Yes, it will allow you to plug whatever ISP you use as an internet connection without configuration. I would recommend having it run the speed test with the new system to allow it to manage the connection throughput. I bought the 3 part set so cover 3200sq/ft two story home. v/r Jerry

QuestionDoes it require a subscription to keep the firewall updated?

- Answer Good question, what you get is an app on your cell phone that helps you configure and manage the new network. You need a profile, but not a subscription unless you want to subscribe to their "Homeshield" service ( I do not). I was able to perform a firmware update without paying for a subscription. I rely on a software firewall courtesy of my cybersecurity software not related to Deco (which does have a subscription) Hope this helps..

QuestionI have Verizon 5G wifi which uses dynamic IP addresses which causes location problems for my Hulu Live TV. Will this give me a static IP address to correct this?

- Answer Hi! If you're referring to your WAN IP address (the Internet-facing IP address supplied by your Internet service provider), then no. That IP is supplied and controlled by your ISP. The Deco cannot override that. However, if you are referring to the local IP addresses assigned to each device within your home network, you can configure IP address reservation, or DHCP reservation using the Deco app.
