I know of no way to disable temporarily the wall switch such that a toddler can't push the toggle. However, because the smart switch is app-controllable, the actual physical switch does not have to be within toddler reach. One can install the switch in a separate, but still convenient, place. Depending on your skill level, it involves running a four-conductor Romex cable from the existing switch position to a new location that is out of reach of the toddler. A licensed electrician can do this for you, too.
