QuestionI'll need 3 of these. Will I be able to see and control all 3 tapo's from the Tapo app on my Android phone ? How does the Tapo app communicate with the Tapo's ? Are the Tapo's connected to my home network in some way or are they paired with my phone ?

- Answer Yes, they are all controllable via the Tapo app or may also be controlled through a smart home ecosystem (e.g., Alexa, Google, Apple Home). In the Tapo app, you will be able to see each device and control it, even allowing setup of automated actions, like scheduling on/off. When setting up the devices, they are connected to your home wireless network, which is then how the Tapo app (or other smart home device) interacts with the Tapo plug.

- Answer You need to make sure your De-Icer does not exceed the smart plugs operation parameters. Beyond that the plug just requires an connection to a 2.4GHz network and access to the internet to work. You would control it through the phone via a cloud link so it would work from anywhere as long as the product is connected and online.

QuestionCan you set a light to turn on and off for a specified amount of time.Maybe a better description would be does your app have a count down timer? For example turn a light on for 3hrs after that it would turn off. (Not using a schedule)
