Q: QuestionMOST tapolink cameras can be viewed on your PC, but NOT this one. There is no protocol for rtsp or onvif streaming through your PC using either VLC or Ispy. Evidently this is strictly considered by Tapo to be a 'battery' cam with limited basic usage. why?

• A:Answer Hi majorjer, RTSP and ONVIF are power-hungry protocols due to the constant streaming of video data via RTSP and frequent connections/data transfers being made via ONVIF. Additionally, RTSP and ONVIF require significant processing power to encode and transmit video data. On a battery-powered camera, this can lead to full energy depletion in a very brief period, which is counterintuitive to the intended convenience offered by the product's design. Battery-powered cameras have limited battery capacity, and using power-hungry protocols like RTSP and ONVIF can significantly reduce their operational time. This applies to all battery-powered cameras, not just those offered by Tapo.

Q: QuestionI have tried many different battery powered brands and placed them behind the window, the motion sensor never worked due to the glass itself. Will this cameras work to detect motion behind the window being powered by battery?

For example, if you take your smartphone to the carport and attempt to connect to your home's Wi-Fi network, but are unable to pick up its signal, it is unlikely that the camera will be able to connect either. Depending on your home layout and network extension options, an extender may be something worth considering. • A:Answer Hi Jess, Tapo TCB82 Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Security Cameras support recording to a microSD card in multiple ways. One method is to install a microSD card in each camera, so that the camera can record directly to it. Another method is by using a Tapo Hub, such as the H200, to record to a microSD card inserted into the hub. The hub can also act as a network connection for the camera, if desired, by toggling the option in the Tapo app.

• A:Answer Yes in fact we sell them. Look for the Tapo A200. You will need 1 per camera but they are easy to install and provide a higher power rating than other that are similar priced.

• A:Answer No, At this time Tapo Cameras are 2.4GHz only. This should not be a issue since the bitstream is compressed. In this case 2.4GHz is better for the camera as it provides a greater distance that the camera can be deployed at.
