Yes it does. It is a very good basic phone. I bought mine for the same reason, mostly make phone calls and I also send a few text messages and that is it. This phone runs on the Verizon side of Tracfone, so I get very good service where I'm at. I have had no problems with it.b If you are looking for just a basic phone I would get this LG instead of the Myflip. The Myflip phones run KaiOS on which you can download apps to the phone and do a lot of other internet kinda of stuff.
