Hi Phill, unfortunately this phone will NOT work in Australia. The frequency bands are different in Australia and in the United States. Also, Tracfones are programmed not to work on foreign, non-american phone networks. For example, in Canada the phone frequencies are the same that you could find in the United States, but if the phone detects its on a Canadian network, it won't work. This phone is locked to tracfone only and cannot be unlocked. I hope this helps!
