The phone runs off Verizon network which uses different frequency bands for the LTE and voice. AT&T uses gsm and Verizon uses cdma, which means they are two different network technologies. Also, TracFone locks the phone so you can only use it with them, the trade off is that you get a subsidised phone cost. I hope this helps!
