“If I purchase this product for a one year subscription what happens after 1 year? Am I automatically charged a higher amount until I cancel the subscription. If so what is the amount.”

In my experience, Trend Micro still runs on your computer for a period of time after the one year. But it no longer updates & isn't protecting your computer against new threats. I was informed that my subscription had run out & i needed to purchase the newest version. I went to the store to replace the old version.
