The inside is always unlocked and accessible to turn and open the door. The outside is always locked and require you to input the code to unlock the door. This is a very simple and easy lock. You turn the knob to open the door from the inside to exit the house. When you exit and close the door the outside knob is disengaged and require the code to unlock the door.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it stays locked
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The buttons are only on one side for entry. When you enter your code it moves a pin to engage the outside knob. The inside knob is always engaged for quick exit. Nice lock if you get tired of hauling keys around. I used it on my separated garage from my house.
