Well the prices are apples to oranges but I personally don't trust gaming headsets without boom mics. Just my opinion. Also there are no dials on the 800X so that is a fail in my book. It is more up to personal preference on some of the differences it seems. So it depends on what you mean by "better".

You can barely hear yourself and it occasionally disconnects your controller. Something about fighting for the same signal. Also the buttons get hit by accident all the time. I returned my 800s for my second pair of 700s today. 700s all the way

Technically the 700s are an older gen that have been around since the 360 came out, and the 800s are the latest version. It's like why try to make something that is already amazing, better. 700s are definitely worth it. Just make sure to get a warranty.

A few cons: very heavy. In the warm weather they were really hot. The microphone (or lack of one) sucked. You sound like you are gaming in a soup can. The price: if you can get them for under $150 grab em. $249 is really steep. The 700s are much lighter. The mic is a slight upgrade. They don’t have as many bells and whistles. Both pairs broke in the exact same spot. I bought the 800s Xmas 2017 broken by Xmas 2018. 700s were purchased Xmas 2017 and broke January 2019. Purchase an extended warranty ALWAYS!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Elite 800s have better sound quality, but require a wire for voice chat connected to the controller. It also requires a base station connected to the Xbox One. The Stealth series has a direct connection to the Xbox One and do not require either of the above. So, if you’re looking for the best audio quality and wireless charging, the Elite 800s will be the better option. I prefer the Stealth 700s due to the complete wireless solution and no base station needed.
